As we all know, Labor Day pretty much represents the last hurrah of summer before we all begrudgingly head back to school for another year of work, sleep a little, repeat.
To close off summer, I wanted one last fun little adventure. Unexpectedly, a scroll down my own social media pages had me discover the aesthetic of my dreams -- a sunflower farm. The world's happiest flower lining up in tidy rows to create seemingly infinite fields of vivid yellow. To my utter surprise, I learned that Sunflower Valley Farm is located right in our region of the Hudson Valley!

Of course, I had to try and go before they closed for the season, and I had to take along my best friends for the drive out. We had a fun little photoshoot. Be extra, or go home, right?

Best of all, for the admission price of $5, we also got to take home three beautiful flowers.

Sunflower farms look great in photos, yes, but they're also a little bubble of joy. Every sunflower's like a smiling face, and it's hard not to want to smile when you're there too. As Oscar Wilde famously said, "With freedom, flowers, books, and the moon, who could not be happy?" Surely, happiness is influenced by more than just these four factors, but it's always nice to take a moment and stop to smell the sunflowers.
